After cosplaying for 12 years, I have finally cosplayed one of my all-time favourite characters! I guess a part of me wanted to wait until I was a bit older, but I also think there was a part of me that didn't want to cosplay him until I felt I could be happy with myself cosplaying him. I just saw the live-action movie this week also, which was the deciding factor to speed up doing this shoot! ^_^V
I am happy with how this turned out - it was a last minute decision to do this shoot - made the Kimono top in a couple of hours in the morning, zipped out to buy red ink to dye the hair 1 hour before we had to leave for the shoot and cut the wig as I was running out of the door! I was also very fortunate that a replica sword store happened to be located 15 minutes from where I work, who also happened to have the reverseblade for sale! *happy fan is happy*
The scar I used a thin application of latex to give it a bit more of a texture - but I didn't have the right scar colour bodypaints or make up Next time, I'll have more time to prepare!
My thanks go out to *cielroses who did the photography for this in FLASH! Like seriously - 15 minutes shooting, 5 minutes getting in and out of the botanical gardens while trying to hide my Katana in my Hakama....very awkward walking with a Katana down your pants I can tell you that! ) and to Straw who made the Hakama for me for my Hakuouki cosplay a couple of years ago
